SHELDON Foundation recognizes the importance of maintaining the privacy of the users of our web site and the Blackboard Connect™ mass-notification service. This Privacy Policy outlines what information we gather from you and why, and how we protect, disclose, and change it. This Privacy Policy is part of the SHELDON Foundation Terms and Conditions that you must accept during the registration process. It governs your use of our web site, , and the Blackboard Connect™ mass-notification service. This web site is owned by SHELDON Foundation. The Blackboard Connect™ mass-notification system is owned by Blackboard, Inc.

Information we collect and why
The following required information is gathered from you when registering with SHELDON Foundation for the Blackboard Connect™ mass-notification service:

• Title (Mr., Mrs., Capt., etc.)
• First Name
• Last Name
• Email Address: In order to maintain the most accurate contact information, SHELDON Foundation will send you an email at the beginning of each month requesting that you review and update your Member Profile. Additionally, the Foundation will send you an email whenever changes are made to your Member Profile. Lastly, in order to recieve email messages via Blackboard Connect™, an email address is required in your Member Profile.
• Password
• Primary Phone: In order to recieve voice messages via Blackboard Connect™, at least one contact phone number is required in your Member Profile.
• Address, City, State, ZIP.

The following optional information may also be gathered from you when registering with the Foundation for the Blackboard Connect™ mass-notification service: Middle Initial, Secondary Phone Number, Tertiary Phone Number, and SMS-text Phone Number.

Disclosure
SHELDON Foundation may disclose any information that you provide to us:

1. when we believe disclosure to be appropriate to comply with any law, regulation, or governmental or law enforcement request, or to comply with judicial process; or
2. to protect the rights or property of SHELDON Foundation and its affiliates.

Your Consent/Changes to this policy
Subject to the above provisions, by using our web site, you consent to the collection and use of information by us and the terms of this Privacy Policy. We may change our Privacy Policy from time to time and we will post those changes so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we may disclose it.

Blackboard Connect™ is a telephonic and Internet-base mass-notification service that is provided by SHELDON Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, through our partnership with Blackboard, Inc. The use of the Blackboard Connect™ mass-notification service, through our Foundation, is currently restricted to the Civil Air Patrol. The following Terms and Conditions apply to both your use of the SHELDON Foundation web site, , and the Blackboard Connect™ mass-notification service.

Squadron Leaders
As the Squadron Leader of a Blackboard Connect™ Group: You confirm that your Squadron is bona fide; You agree to protect the privacy of the information contained in any Member Profile in your Squadron according to the SHELDON Foundation Privacy Policy; You understand that SHELDON Foundation reserves the right to terminate your individual or your Squadron's use of the web site or the Blackboard Connect™ mass-notification service at any time without notification; You understand that the Foundation reserves the right to periodically monitor alert messages and web site traffic to ensure that both services are being utilized consistent with these Terms and Conditions.

Squadron Members
As a Squadron Member of an Blackboard Connect™ Squadron: You understand that the information contained in your Member Profile is subject to review and alteration by your Squadron Leader at any time without notification; You understand that your Squadron Leader is obligated to protect the information contained in your Member Profile according to the SHELDON Foundation Privacy Policy; You understand that your Squadron Leader may, at will, activate, deactivate, or remove your Member Profile at any time without prior notification; You understand that SHELDON Foundation reserves the right to terminate your use of the web site or the Blackboard Connect™ emergency alert service at any time without notification.

All Members
You agree to use the SHELDON Foundation web site and the Blackboard Connect™ mass-notification service only for lawful and benevolent purposes; You understand that the privacy of the information contained in your Member Profile is protected by SHELDON Foundation according to the SHELDON Foundation Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer of Warranties
Blackboard Connect™ is a complex, multi-faceted technology with numerous interfaces to external technologies such as telephone networks, electrical utilities, and the world wide web, that are not controlled by SHELDON Foundation or Blackboard, Inc. The providers of these and other dependent technologies do not guarantee that they will perform without interruption and, as such, neither SHELDON Foundation nor Blackboard, Inc. can guarantee that Blackboard Connect™ will perform without interruption. While numerous safeguards are implemented to ensure the greatest uptime possible, there may be times that Blackboard Connect™ becomes temporarily unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control.

You expressly understand and agree that:

YOUR USE OF THE SHELDON FOUNDATION WEBSITE AND THE BLACKBOARD CONNECT™ MASS-NOTIFICATION SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. SHELDON FOUNDATION AND ITS SUPPLIERS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
