Our Foundation

SHELDON Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation located in the great state of Texas. Our primary mission is to provide the Blackboard Connect™ mass-notification service to the Civil Air Patrol.

SHELDON Foundation is a non-member organization, the primary revenue source of which is philanthropic donations.

Use of the Blackboard Connect™ mass-notification service, through SHELDON Foundation, is currently restricted to the Civil Air Patrol.
 

Board of Directors & Officers

   James S. Rice
   Director, President, Treasurer, Assistant Secretary

   A current resident of Houston, TX, Mr. Rice is a full-time engineer with NASA, holding degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado. Mr. Rice is the developer of the intellert™ emergency alert system, the in-house system that SHELDON Foundation provided until 2010.

   James A. Rice
   Director, Vice President

   A current resident of Littleton, CO, Mr. Rice is retired from IBM following a full and successful career spanning thirty years. During his career, Mr. Rice held a number of different managerial positions within the company. In addition to co-directing SHELDON Foundation, Mr. Rice is active with the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.

   Eva D. Pollock
   Director, Secretary, Assistant Treasurer

   A current resident of San Antonio, TX, Ms. Pollock is retired from a successful career as a rental properties owner and manager. In addition to co-directing SHELDON Foundation, Ms. Pollock is an active volunteer with the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, TX.
